The Field is StackedPosted on September 27, 2004 by SuperRetrieverSeries.com ![]() It should come as no surprise to anyone that J. Paul Jackson and Achilles are the top seeded team for the first event of the 2005 Mack's Super Retriever Series event held at El Campo, Texas. But even being fresh off a gold medal in the 2005 ESPN Great Outdoor Games, it won't be easy going. Close on their tail are the formidable teams of Jerry Day and Nike (2nd Place - 2003 SportDOG Team of the Year), Stacey West and Rankin (3rd Place - 2003 SportDOG Team of the Year), defending SportDOG Team of the Year Scott Greer and Liza, and 2003 Great Outdoor Games Gold Medalist Chris Akin and Boomer. While the seeds give an indication of which teams will perform the best day-in and day-out, that's not always the case for an SRS event. Consider the first stop on the 2004 series in Middleburg, Va. 16th seed David Opseth and Windy survived gale force winds to best many of this year's top seeds. It's a long road to the SRS Championship; but the first stop is El Campo, Texas. These 58 teams will do their best to strike first and take the lead in the 2005 SportDOG Team of the Year race. 1.
