Super Fly Rules

All rules stated below will be in effect for the remainder of the 2009/2010 Super Retriever Series.  All decisions made by the tournament director and/or tournament officials will be final in all matters. The tournament director and/or tournament officials may make a change to these rules when the safety of a team or the integrity of the Super Retriever Series is in question.

NEW FOR 2010
• If one of the top 3 teams at an event has already qualified for the Crown Championship, the next highest placing dog in the Pro Division that has not qualified will receive an invitation to the SRS Crown Championship.

Dock Specifications
• Dock length: 40 feet
• Dock Height from water: 24 inches
• Dock surface: 3/4" ribbed rubber matting

General Rules
• A Super Fly "Team" consists of 1 dog and 1 handler. Only 1 person is allowed on the dock during competition with the dog.
• No choke, prong, or electronic collars will be allowed on the dock.
• Dogs in season will not be allowed to compete
• Should a competitor attempt to bring a dog in season to the line, that team will be immediately disqualified and the handler and all dogs will be barred from competing for the remainder of the year including the Crown Championship
• Competitors may not pass their first jump in each round
• Dogs that appear to be injured will not be allowed to compete
• No dog may be pushed/thrown off the dock for competition
• If a dog has problems getting out of the pool, it is the handler's responsibility to get him out.
• If a dog snaps at any of the organizers, it is at the SRS coordinators discretion whether to let the dog continue to compete
• Dogs must be restrained on leash or kenneled at all times when they are not on the dock competing.
• Pre-registration is available online at www.SuperRetrieverSeries.com or on-site 2 hours prior to the amateur or pro events unless the event is full.
• The competition dock times will be listed in the Venue Schedule of events. NO practicing will be allowed without SRS Super Fly personnel present. If the bar is up, the dock is closed.
• All handlers should be prepared to be on camera and should dress accordingly.
• Handlers can register an unlimited number of dogs and there is no limit to the number of dogs allowed to advance to the finals
• There will be a 2-minute time limit on the dock per jump for all Pro Division events

Competition Rules
• Running order is determined randomly by the Super Fly coordinators and will be posted in staging area.
• Teams will be staged in a specified area. If your name is called and you are not in the staging area ready to run, your run will be forfeited.
• Each qualifying round consists of two jump rotations. Each team will complete one jump rotation and then the second jump rotation will begin.
• Handlers will be allowed up to 2 minutes once they hit the top level of the dock to jump their dogs.
• Unsportsmanlike behavior or abuse/harsh correction to a dog (as determined by the Super Fly coordinators) will not be tolerated. One warning will be given prior to disqualification.
• Handlers are responsible for cleaning up after their dog. Failure to comply may result in disqualification
• Payout to winners will be based on 80% of paid entries to 20% of the field.
• A tie in the final round will result in a "jump-off". Each dog will have one jump and the longer of the two will be declared the winner.

Amateur Division
This division is open to dogs that have not jumped more than 18 feet in two competitive events. Competitive events mean any event that ranks dogs from in order of distance jumped regardless of the sanctioning body. The winner of the amateur event will get a free entry into the Pro Division.

• $10.00 entry fee covers jumps for the entire weekend
• 2 jumps per team
• Space limited to first 50 teams
• 80% of the entry fees are paid to 20% of the field
• First place earns automatic entry into Pro Division Qualifier

Pro Division
This division is open to any team.

• $100.00 entry fee covers jumps for the entire weekend
• 2 jumps per team
• Space limited to first 50 teams
• 80% of the entry fees are paid to 20% of the field
• Top 3 qualify for the SRS Crown Championship.
• There will be a 2-minute time limit on the dock per jump for all Pro Division events

Pay Once, Jump Often
As in years past, the single entry fee covers an entire weekend's worth of jumping activities

Scoring
An electronic scoring system will be used in the Super Retriever Series.
